Respite Care

Providing a Break for a Family Caregiver

At some point in our life, we face the challenge of taking care of a loved one.  Sometimes caring for a loved one is brief, after a hospital stay, illness, or injury, and sometimes it lasts longer.  Caregiving can be physically and emotionally draining and a Respite is needed. Respite Care is designed to provide relief for family and friends taking care of a loved one.  It allows Family Caregivers time to take care of personal matters they haven't been able to get to, and also provide quality time to take care of their own emotional needs.  It's not easy taking care of someone you love 24/7, so enlisting a Professional Caregiver can be a temporary solution when there seems to be no light at the end of the Tunnel.  Please click on the following article from AARP that discusses Respite Care, and a Step-by-Step Guide on designing a custom Respite Plan.  AARP Article
